  2. Well the events were doing now is actually real life stories. The stories that we have read were not real. Some of the people in african literature play very big roles in life today and without them it wouldnt be the same. Early african literature was to describe a topic of someone that was not real but acted it. The topics were doing now are real people. The person I have plays a very big role today.

  3. The stories we have read in african lit have been pretty similar to native american stories. they include talking animal characters and stories about how the earth was created.some stories also incorperated a trickster character like the story about the spider who captures all the other scary animals to hear the sky god stories.- keith friel

  4. Most of the African literature is relatively the same. In isis and osiris there was a trickster, seth and he killed osiris. In the other stories there was a trickster character who used his wits to get what he wanted. Tricking the other characters as a means to an end.

  5. The stories we have read from early african literature are all similar in some way. Whether its the characters being mythological or the fact that theirs a trickster in all of them. They're different because they all have different plots. Some have a hero and some dont, also some have tricksters when others dont. The main point is they all have similarities and differences.

  6. All of the stories are alike by being african literature, obviously. They both have tricksters in them. They bothn also, are very unrealistic. Neither of the stories have a realistic plot. Isis and Osiris for example, Osiris' death did not make sense.

  7. All the stories that we have read in class all are simular and different in their own unique ways. They all have a trickster character, and they all have a unique hero in each story. Most of the stories that we have read all have a type of plot that someone or something is trying to accomplish. The difference between most of all the stories is only simple things such as, setting, characters, the different plots that they went through during the story, and the many different morals.

The stories we have read are kinda similar to the ones we do now. The only deifferance is that the things we do now involve real people. Some of the stories are fake but some are true stories. They all deal with problems but are very good stories. Some of the stories are really good. The stories i find most intersting are the ones with animals that play as characters.

  11. The African Literature that we have read so far may not be the exact same story but they do all connect in someway or have a lot of the same aspects of each other. All of the stories include anthropomorphism which is giving human qualities to animals and make them "gods". Although the stories are different in many ways they all sound like myths. They also all have a moral to them, or a example of manipulation like Anansi in "How stories came to earth" he was a trickster. A trickster is a anthropomorphism character that uses words to persuade people into doing whatever they want.

  12. The stories we have read are way different than ones i have read.THis is because they give most if not all the animals person qualities.Another thing is there is always a unclear moral that you have to wait to see and is hidden by differnt charchaters. The stories are shorter and use words i am unfamiliar with. This shows things we know are not true

  13. African American literature is mostly similar but have diffrent types of tricksters. For instance in Anasi the spider story he uses his wisdom to trick the animals to get what he wants and apps i ask his wife for help. Also the setting of the story is different then puss. In boots. In the story of puss in boots the story it take place in France in the 1500. The tricksters have develop his own way as a French cat to catch what he wants. Both stories deals with animals VC

  14. These stories from africa are alot alike. They each have very un realistic characters. These characters are usually animals or creatures that have human traits. Almost like greek mythology. I feel these characters actaully make the stories interesting.

  15. The stories we have been reading were alot alike. In two of the stories there were characters that were talking animals. For example, in how stories came to life two talking spiders had to capture exotic creatures in order to read the sky gods stories. Also in coyote steals fire a talking coyote has to beat thunder in a game of dice to get fire to the reat of the world. All of the african stories are related because they have a trickster character

  16. All of the stories we have read are very similar, but different all at the same time. All of these stories have one major similarity and one element that is different. Every story line, when you think about it could never happen in real life. For example, "Osiris and Isis" the chest lands in the tree then becomes a part of the column; The spider story, the god takes ALL the stories in the world and a spider needs to get them back and so on. A difference between them, they all took a different view and and its own message.

  17. The the stories that were are learning in class are mostly mythological and also most of them have a trickster character. For Exmaple, the cyote from Coyote Steals Fire is the main trickster of the story. A Trickster is wise clever and is usually selfish but his actions utimately help society. Most of the stories end up having a good ending and some are creation myths. The trickster usually tries to gain power or wealth for themselves but in the end helps out either society or another person. Basically all of these stories either have a moral or explain the creation of the world or give expanation to certain things.

  18. Most of the african literature is relatively similar. In the story osiris and isis, osiris's brother seth tricks his brother twice trying to kill him. The first time he locks him into a chest and pushes it into the open ocean. The second time he cuts osiris up into 14 pieces and scatters them all over the island. In the other stories there were trickster characters in each one who used their clever minds to trick someone to get what they wanted. When they tricked other characters they either got angry at the trickster character and tried to stop them or they didnt do anything about it .-Kristian Mcniss Period 3

  19. The African Literature sotries that we have been reading are all relativley simalar. They all have Trickster characters and talking animals. for example, you have the cat from "puss in boots" and the spider from "how stories came to earth." Each of these has a talking animal as the main character, and both of these characters are tricksters. Thats how these stroies tie together under the category of African Literature.

  20. In the stories we have read for Early African Literature, there are many similar characters, such as the trickster character, as it is presented in Seth in Osiris and Isis and the spider Anansi in How Stories Came to Earth. Also, both stories have some sort of religious figures involved, for example, the god of sky and earth, which shows the impact and value of religion in Early African Literature. Both stories emphasize on wit and wisdom, and the main characters depend on these two qualities to achieve their purpose. However, in the story of Osiris and Isis, the main characters are in the forms of god and human beings, whereas in How Stories Came to Earth, the main characters are in the forms of animals.

  21. They are similar because they have different animals. They also talk about how stories came to earth. There are also gods. They also both deal with mythical creatures. They both have trickster characters.

  22. All three stories are tied together through mythology, having a moral/theme, having a significant antagonist character. The stories had fantasy characters and themes, about unrealistic things. Also, there is always deceit in the stories

  23. All the stories are very similar because nothing that happend in all of these stories could never ever happen in real life. For example, the stories in the world and the spider needs to get them all back. Now that is something that would not even possibly be able to happen in real life. All the characters are also tricksters so that makes all of the stories alike, because the characters are all alike in a tricky way. -Jeff Ritter

  24. The African Literature Stories we have read are alot alike. The part that made them alot alike were the animals/insects. For example in the stories there were talking spiders. The other part is that they place as tricksters. It could play as mythology. These little spiders played tricks on things that are almost impossible to catch. They are mainly alike by the tricks they play.
