  1. The environment of the story is in the jungel in african i believe in the middle. The place that she lives with her grandemother is a very poor placer where people are struggling to eat and find sheltter. Also there very used to death in those parts . i know this by when she takes about her mother not returning and them assuming it is death and they just thought of that as normal. This journey that she is going on is alot different than what i thought she would go on ther is alot of more killing and destruction. But the middle child makes it seem like this is how her life has always been and she still keeps a good heart in the mean time.

  2. The environment of Ultimate safari is in the middle of Africa. It is a desert-like place with villages and towns. The Narrator lives in a very poor place with her mother, older, and younger brothers. They are struggling to find food because bandits keep invading their village. They steal all the food and the village completely runs out of food. The narrator's mother goes to look for food one day but never comes back that night. The narrator and her two brothers take shelter inside their house because the bandits are running loose. If they are caught the bandits will kill them. One day the bandits burn down their house and take the food from their house. The next day their grandmother and grandfather come to pick them up so they can live with them. The bandits have also invaded their grandparents village and have taken all the food. They receive food from young men but it completely runs out in two days. They are also completely out of water and the water is also scarce. They try to cope with the situation the best they can sticking together like a family should do.-Kristian Mcniss Period 3

  3. So far in this story the environment is not a good one. There are three little kids and grandparents on a journey to get out of where they are, and get to a place where they can be safe. To where they can have food, and keep it. Where they are right now is not good for that. They started off in a village with there two parents. There Dad went off, and there Mom went out and never came back. They were all alone until the grandparents came along. They came and got them, and went off. They would sell clothes/accesories. This would get them money for food, and everything else they need to get by. Then they would keep on moving and go farther and farther away.

  4. In "The Ultimate Safari" , the enviroment is full of wild animals. Such as lions, hyenes, and elephants. The villagers struggle to find food and water. The village people had to live like animals on the journey. They had to eat like animals. They also had to hide like animals. They had to stay hidden from the white people and the police so they did not send the villagers back. The villagers had to live with the animals.

  5. The only way to describe the enviroment is just three words..."The Lion King" LoL but what I have read it sounds exactly like the enviroment in that movie and it was long and they soon got sick, weak, and tired. they lost there grandfather along they way. but they finally reached the "away" and they soon got nursed and brought back to decent heath.

  9. The environment in the story "The Ultimate Safari" is very hostel. If being orphaned at young ages isn't enough, being chased away from your own home certainly is. Three young children living in Africa during the apartheid have to make the journey with their grandparents to get out of part of Africa they are in. The journey is hundreds of miles long, but it is worth it. Living off the earth for a good amount of days gets pretty tiring, plus having to worry about the animals. In the story the main character makes many relations to people and animals. At one point feeling she had to act like one to survive. Through everything, it is important that they reach the other side of the park, together.

Then one day their grandparents here about this and come to get them to take care of them. when they live with their grandparents they have very little food at all and when they go to find food its all taken by the other people with out food. One day they decide to leave with a group of people to go find a refuge camp out side of a place called kruger park. When they get to kruger park they have to stay quite so nobody hears them because it is a private game reserve. When they are in there they eat food that does not settle well with their stomachs and their grandfather goes missing later on they find out he died. when they reach the other side they get to the refuge camp and live their for years.

  12. This enviremont in the story is very hot, scary, horrible, etc. It has many villages and little towns. It is very hard to live there without being frightened and possibly killed. There are many different dangerous animals. The journey is long and terrifying. They always have to have one person up at night just to make sure nothing happens to them. They dont have parents so they all have to work together to make it through.

  13. The story takes place in a safari. The safari is very dangerous and there are animals that can kill you there as well as police wardens that can arrest you for being there. The people going through Kruger park have to live like animals and are always in constant danger of being killed. Their journey consists of them going through Kruger Park to get away from their country. They lose people along the way and are always in poor condition as they are swarmed by bugs and are plagued by hunger and dehydration.

  14. The enviorment of the story is in South Africa, very hot and dry. Reading this story I think of a saffari of animals everywhere and just tall tanish colored grasses. Thats exactly what the enviorment is. Animals such as elephants and lions can easily survive in this enviorment but the people, not so much. They have to struggle through this saffari, they have to act like the animals to get their food and water. Their journey is deffinently not any ordinary journey. Its extreamly hard and difficult. They keep pushing through until they make it.

  15. THe environment in the beginning is in a village, and then later you see that they are in a safari. In the safari, its very hot. After the safari, the reach the camp, and that is crowded and smells bad from all the crammed people living together. This story is about three kids who lost their parents because of the war and the bandits. Their grandparents took them in, then they began their journey to the camp. It was tough and they lost their grandfather along the way, but things started to get better for them once they made it to the camp. They no longer were starving, they had clothes, and were starting to live a normal life with their grand mom.

  16. There are various enviroments that they faced throughout the course of the story. At first they're at a small village that is suffering from poverty, stavation, and abandament. The kids that were left to fight for themselves had lost their mother to some unknown happening, and lost their father to fighting in the war against the bandits which have left there village in ruins in most places. But as the story went on they were acompented by there grandparents, and they had found out about this place through kruger park that was safe from the bandits, wild animal, etc. They refer to this place as "away" throughtout the story. They had met a guide that would take them to the place and avoid most danger that they acounted on the way there. Half way through the journey their grandfather had eaten somehting that did not agree with his body and so he went off by himself and was never seen again. Once they made it to the refuge center they were given food and water to help tame there hunger. The youngest child had been starved from food for so long that he faced complacations that left him barely alive. They had recived a very small corner in the huge tent that people stayed in to call home. A reporter that had came to the refuge center had asked them numerous questions and one of them was if they would ever return. The grandmother said she would never because she had thought that there was not a place to call home now and they had to start over fresh. The middle child had different expectations. She thought that when the war was over her father would be there waiting for them along with her mother and grandfather.

    1. The basic setting of the story takes place in south Africa in between Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The story leads the kids from their own original home to their grandmother's home. The grandmother decides it is no longer safe for them to stay at the village so they all go on an adventure through Kruger park. This park is a animal reserve where wild game are placed . They travel through this safari to reach the away referred, to by the narrator, which is a clinic and a village on the other side of Kruger park. it is there were their main trials and tribulations come to an end where they can find some peace of mind.

  17. There are many different environments in the story the ultimate safari; there is a village type setting where the kids mother left them and never came back. later on there with there grandparents in a more sturdy village but they are still suffering from poverty and starvation. since they are still suffering the grandparent decided to take the kids to Kruger park. Kruger park is a place that the grandparents were told about they said that this park was safe from bandits, wild animals and such, Kruger park also had food, shelter, and clothes for them. When they got there after traveling for days, leaving there grandfather behind, and almost being attacked by lions they come to find a tent with a church type of setting next to a clinic with packets of powdered food.

  18. In ultimate safari the three children start off in there home village but the bandits ruin it and raid the whole village. They are forced to go "away". They meet up with their grandparents and head into the safari. The safari is extremly dangerous, they had to scare off a lion at one point in there adventure. Once they got out of the safari they found a "safe camp". It was filled with people and had a nasty smell to it. The adventurers found there "away".

  19. The environment in the ultimate safari is very rough and dramatic. Three children are left on there own to survive when there father goes off to war and never returns and the mother goes off to the store in hope of finding cooking oil and never returns. Bandits came into the village and raided and took everything they could find and even tho they robbed the children before the youngest believes that "they are not bad people, just hungry like us". The 3 children meet up with there grandparents after the lost of their parents in search of help. They findout that their grandparents have it almost as worst as they do and struggle just to find a little bit of food. The children and grandparents go on a journey through kruger park to find a better home and along the way loose there weak and fragile grandfather. Eventaully they reach there destination and find out it is just a big tent with tight and hard living conditions but for now it is there only home where they are safe.

  20. In the Ultimate Safari, there are multiple environments. By the way the narrator describes it in the story, the living conditions of her and her family were extremely dangerous. They are going through starvation, they do not know where their mother is, and they don't have a place to live because of the bandits. The bandits took away everything. Luckily, their grandparents came and brought them to their house. Their living conditions were bad considering they still had no food to eat. Finally, they decided that they wanted to get away and go somewhere where they could live a normal life. They didn't have a set destination, but anywhere away from where they currently were was considered to be away. They ended up making it through Kruger Park, and to a place where the environment was better than it was. They eventually lived a better life and things got better for them.

  21. The Ultimate Safari tells us a story about a journey of a family to survival in which the mother was possibly killed by the bandits and the father died in the war. Their three children were left as orphans all of a sudden and had to be taken care of by their same weak and poor grandparents. The environment described in the story is very violent, impoverished, and uncivilized. The village that the three children lived in was extremely poor, where all the houses were built with thatch and mud, and there was no much material comfort. Even cooking oil would be very treasured there. The village suffered frequent attacks and threats from the bandits and almost everything useful was robbed by them, too. Out of no choice, the children's grandparents took them on the journey across the Kruger Park to reach the camp, where they would at least be fed. Along the way, there were many dangers. They had to act and disguise themselves as animals to survive and escape the police warden's detection which would result in their death. They lost their grandfather,as well. There was no laws or rules to protect them and their basic needs for life were not guaranteed. All in all, it was a harsh, competitive environment for survival.

  22. The environment of the story isn't what most people are used to. This family lives off of basically nothing. They're parents are both gone, and their house has been burned to ashes by the bandits. Forced to go with their grandparents, the children travel through Kruger Park. Here they encounter wild animals as well as odd fruits which in turn makes everyone sick. Finally reaching the tent, they live with many other people from their village under one roof. The only thing separating them are cardboard box walls. Their conditions aren't much better than they were at the village, but the family is happy to get away and plans to stay in this tent for two years.

  23. The environment of the story is very poor. Poor people looking for survival. there is 3 kids and their grandparents. They have to hunt for their food. The Grandmother is the one that does the hunting. She is big, young, and strong. The Grandfather is old and small. The oldest kid watches the 2 younger kids, while the grandmother is the provider. They plan to stay for 2 years, and are happy with that, It gives them plenty of time to get away and adventure.

  24. The enviroment in the story "The Ultimate Story" can be described as horrible. To start things off our main characters village has basically been burned down. This is due to a war going on withing the country. Now they must go on a huge journey just to try and find food and water. Many dangerous things happen such as facing giant electric fences, Lions, and volutres.

  25. the enviroment in the ultimate safari is a very scary and unsafe place. These conditions would not be a good for a child to be raised in. there all all kinds of creatures that could hurt you and you can easily become lost or disoreiented. In there hometown they even face bandits who raid and burn there town. these were the conditions i saw in the ultimate safari. - keith friel

  27. The environment of the ultimate safari is a jungle type place thats kinda scary. Its also a poor place to be. Its basically a story about a journey of a family to survival in which the mother was possibly killed by the bandits. They had to act and disguise themselves as animals to survive and escape the police warden's detection which would result in their death. The sotry was very good and interesting. Its also very horrible. The bandits are mean people.

  28. The Ultimate Safari takes place in Southeast Africa. There are many parks and game reserves in this area of Africa due to the large amount of exotic creatures. There are many small villages, but the conditions are poor with the only work being the parks. The main character's journey through Kruger Park is a long, tiring one. They have to walk many miles in the hot sun with no food, water, or shade. They have to be alert for animals as they are very dangerous as well as the warden and his security forces. The journey takes its toll as they lose their grandfather, and the youngest child cannot speak because of the minor starvation he suffered on the journey. They reach a refugee camp where they, for the first time in what probably felt like forever, got food, water, and shelter. -Kyle A. Colletti

  29. The environment in "The Ultimate Safari" was extremely dangerous. First off, their home village was ravaged by bandits and many people and family members were killed by bandits. This caused the narrator and her family to move through Kruger park, which was as dangerous as the country they were leaving. Animals, heat exhaustion, and starvation caused death to sweep the groups as they passed through the park, the same happened with the group that the narrator was in. Her grandfather had gotten lost and was left for dead. Once making it to the refugee camp, the rest of the family tried to restart their lives in a cardboard box, but they were happy that they went "away".

  30. The enviorment in the "Ultimate Safari" was a dangerous place to be. It was so critical they couldn't even do there business outside of their homes. Bandits were everywhere destroying everything in the village. When they decided to go "away" they left everything behind and set out on a journey that was worse than expected. They had the clothes on their back and no food for days. They went through the tall grasses disguising themselves as animals did just to make it out of Kruger Park. Their journey was overall exhausting and their only way to survival was the will to live.

The environment for "The Ultimate Safari" is grim. The story focuses on the horrors of being and African. Such as having your family being killed and go missing, almost dieing from starvation, being homeless, and being terrorized by bandits. It makes you feel bad for the Africans and sympathize for what theyre going through. The environment is violence, poverty, lack of civilization, and many more depressing factors as such.

  32. The environment in the "Ultimate Safari" is a very harsh one. First, it is located in a country called Mozambique which is in Soth Africa. At first they live in this village with her parents who eventually both go missing. After this the three kids go with grandparents on this "journey". The journey takes them about a year and it takes them through Kruger Park. In this dangerous park multiple things happen to them. First, their grandfather goes into the tall grass and we believe he dies but it does not say so. Also, they have a close encounter with lions where their guide has to scare them off. Afterwards they arrive at the refugee camp like place with two hundred other people. There is where there journey ends.

  33. The enviroment in "The Ultimate Safari" was one that consisted of danger and poverty. The people of the villages lived in mud huts and had very little resources. For example, one of the kids said "we were happy because we hadn't tasted oil for a long time." Oil is what they looked forward to as something nice to eat. In addition, their village was always under attack from the bandits. Their huts were ransacked and then burnt down. The journey to get to their new destination was extremely tough. They had to walk miles upon miles and avoid several things such as dangerous animals and "the white people."

The enviornmanent of the story is in a safari in africa. They way it is describes in the story, it is a dangerous, strange place. The journey was a risky thing to do, and put thier lives in jeporady. They had to cross a park, Kriger park, to find a new place to live because of the bandits. Near the end, thier lives get a little better. But now since the war is over, they are being kicked out of the big tent where they have been staying.

  37. The enviroment for the orphaned kids in the African Safari is not good at all. They lost there parent and have to stay with there grandparents. There house got burnt down by bandits and they have to watch for their lives everyday. It is very hot and they are lucky to even get oil to cook there food in. If they have food at all. They go on a long journey through Kruger Park that isn't any better. They loose there grandfather, and get seriously ill. But in the end they end up safe in a tent where they are nurtured back to health.

  38. The story "The Ultimate Safari" takes place somewhere in south Africa. The story begins with 3 children in a small tribe. This tribe is often invaded by bandits. They soon leave after their mother goes missing. They begin to travel closer to the vacation spots of Africa. During their journey, they begin to live like the animals, with no food or shelter. They were leaving to escape poverty and find a better life. So I woe say the conditions in some parts of Africa are very hard.
