The Rain Came

How did you feel about the ending of the story?

  1. I felt happy about the ending of the story "The Rain Came." I was starting to lose hope when she was walking up to the lake.I thought she was really going to be sacrificed. Than Osinda arrived and I let out a sigh of relief. Even though they ran away with eachother the rain still came so in the end everyone was happy and got what they wanted.

  2. The ending was good I liked it alot but it was kind of predictable. I knew she would find that guy and they would run off together and the luo people would get rain.

  3. I feel like the ending was kind of broad because it kinda just leaves with them together it doesn't really elaborate on what happens to them. I also would of liked to know what happened to the village at the end of the story instead of just them thinking she was gone like, what they did with the rain or how they felt when it came. I would also like to know her fathers feelings when she left.

  4. I feel that the ending to "The Rain Came" was appropriate to the story. The story was filled with sad and disappointing outcomes to problems faced in the story. I feel that a happier ending to the story lightens the mood on what the reader was feeling while reading. I for one was glad to see Oganda survive and live with Osinda, I hate when the main character dies. (CoD) I say that the ending added an unexpected outcome that I for one did not expect. It adds a twist to the story.

  5. I thought the ending was great. In the end it seems that everyone got what they wanted. The Luo got the rain they needed to survive. Labongo's daughter didn't die. Lastly Oganda got away with the the man she fell in love with Osinda.

  6. In the ending of the story The Rain Came I was actuly suprised. It said that she had to be a sacrifice to the lake monster so that the village would have rain. But she doesnt go and the village still had ran. So it was a win win for the girl and the villagers. Noone knew that she lived though.

  7. At the end of the story, "The Rain Came" i felt very confused, and very releaved. The reasont that I was confused was because of the fact that oganda did not get into the water, the rain still came. I wondered what happened to the people that did not have to get in the water. Did they have to get into the water for the rain came? And the reason that i was releaved was because she didn't have to die, in order for rain to come. Also because she was saved by osinda, the love of her life. It was a win win situation.

  8. I hated the ending of the story. The story gave no information of how the father felt afterwords nor did it let us know if they where to meet again. I thought this to be to abrubed for the kinda of story it was. You also dont find out if her and her love get married it just shows that it rains. we dont know weather the people will except her or not after not doing what the ancesstors asked. This book was good till the end, i will never read this story again

  9. I feel that the story had some what of a bad ending. I feel this way because you dont really find out what happens with her and her and Osinda. I thought it was awesome that he came out of no where, and the rain came. But it stopped right after that, you really dont know what happens. I thought the story was really good untill the very end, I would like to know what happens next

  10. I think that the ending was ok. I think that if it had explained what happened to Oganda and Osinda a little bit more it would have been better. I do like that she survived though. It was kind of a surprise, but I could have guessed it. They never went back to the people to see how they turned out. The story came to an ending too abruptly.

  11. I felt the story had an appropriate ending. I thought that it was kinda a win- win situation. I feel that the people of the Luo deserved the rain but i also thought Oganda did not deserve to die. I was also hopeing that Oganda could go back to the Luo but she can't. I feel that the story should have had a little more clearer ending. I felt that they should have told us what happend to Oganda.

  12. i was confused on why the torrent still came even though they had ran away. it might make sense if it was the ancestors getting revenge for them running by sending the flood that was foretold to come after the sacrifice but i'm still somewhat confused. i'm still happy though that osinda came to save the day.

  13. I felt the ending was an unexpected twist. She was able to see her love Oshinda again before her "death". Oganda was saved from the sacrifice by him which I felt was kinda cool, even though stuff like that happens in every movie or story. I was a little disappointed though because I was anxious to see what the monster really was. I felt it downplayed the tribe's beliefs when the rains came even after there was no sacrifice. All in all, I felt the ending was very good and helped make the story better.

  14. How did I feel about the ending of the story? I thought it was very good. It was a happy ending. The people in the story went through hard times but after all of it they were rewarded with the rain. To use rain is a bad thing but to the characters in the story it was a blessing. Stories with happy endings are my favorite

  15. The ending of the story "The Rain Came," was surprising. All along I thought that Oganda would be killed by "the monster" and her village would receive rain. I was surprised when i read that Osinda, her true love came and saved her at the end before she died. Then, i became confused that it began to rain at the end of the story which was not supposed to happen unless Oganda had died. This leads me to believe that maybe Oganda did die and she was up in the heavens with Osinda. Overall, i liked the ending of "The Rain Came" and i thought it was very interesting.

  16. I thought that the ending of the story was very surprising. "As the ran she heard a noise from behind. She looked back sharply, and something resembling a moving bush was frantically running after her. It was about to catch up with her." When the mysterious creature was chasing Oganda, I did not know what to expect, and when it said it was Osinda, it was very surprising. Overall, the ending was shocking but it was a great ending.

  17. I was surprised at the end of the story. I thought that the monster would come out, or that Oganda would mysteriously disappear rather than Osinda showing up. Though it was a happy ending with rain coming and Oganda coming out alive, it still left me wondering about the monster. The story never said if it actually exists or what it looks like. It kind of ended without filling in some details such as that.

  18. The ending of the story "The Rain Came" was definently a good one. They made it seem that Oganda had no hope left, she was headed toward death and nothing could stop it. And the fact that Osinda, the guy she always talked about and loved came at the end and saved her was very fairytale like and i loved it. And the fact that it rained at the end showed that the sacrafice was not needed and they could return to their home and live hapily ever after.

  19. By the end of the story we find out that Oganda was saved by her true love, Osinda. I was very surprised by this. We were told from the beginning of the story Oganada must be sacrificed for the good of the people. This gave the story a very depressing feel. Once this happened, the story line felt a little brighter in the fact that Oganda did not die, and it also began to rain. The story overall was very interesting.

  20. In my opinion the ending of the story was not very good. Even osinda comes back at the end, it never really shows what happens to oganda and osinda. However, I did like the face that it rained without oganda having to die. The story also left out what happend to the village. I feel as if the ending would have been much greater if they did. I would rather find out what exactly happend after the ending, but I like the face that you can create your own personal ending by imaging however you think it ended. - spencer sheppard

  21. I felt so happy at the end of the story because I thought that it was the cutest that Osinda came and saved Oganda. I was scared that she was going to be sacrificed, but there was a happy ending. I was very releaved at the end of the story. overall, the story was good and suspenseful.

  22. I feel that the ending of the story "The Rain Came" was a very good ending. The ending was suspenseful, and almost like a fariytale ending in a way. Osinda is the man that she wanted to marry, the man that gave her the gold chain around her waist as a symbol of there love. At first I was scared that Oganda was going to be sacrificed but then Osinda; her lover came and saved her and they ran away together. Most of all, not only did Oganda get out of being sacrificed but the village also had rain so everyone got what they wanted. Everyone is happy with the result.

  23. By the end of The Rain Came, I was satisfied. It seems as if everyone got what they wanted. The entire story was depressing, but the end was uplifting, and I think everything came together nicely. I thought that the story would be too sad to like, but the ending changed my opinion of The Rain Came. The story was very well written and interesting.

  24. I was happy when I found out that Oganda didn't die. It was cute that Osinda came and saved her. Also, the sacrifice ended up not even being needed. It wasn't because in the end the village ended up getting rain. So everyone got to be happy. Oganda found love, and the village finally got rain.

  27. I liked the ending very much. It was a happy ending. I am so glad that she got saved and didnt have to die. I thought it was cute that the one she loved saved her life. It was a good thing that they didnt sacrifice her because it ended up raining anyway.

The ending of the story was quite peaceful. Im so glad that the girl didnt have to sacrafics her life to make it rain. Im also happy that she found a true love to spend the rest of her life with. It is a win win situation for everyone because she gets the man of her dreams and the village gets rain to help their crops grow and so they have more food. Since the village has more food, they can discover new things in our world and thats how the earth was formed. This is how I feel abou the ending of "The Rain Came".

  30. The ending of the story was well planned out. I think that her love saving her from death was a perfect ending. The ending made me want to hear more about her life. Also, how she didnt know it was him chasing her before she passed out was a good cliff hanger. I believe the author completed the story extremely well.

  31. in the story "the rain came" the ending really surprised me. I thought she was going to be sacraficed. When osinda came and saved her life I was very shocked. I thought she was going to get sacrafised. But than the rain came and made everyone happy and noone died.

  32. I enjoyed the ending very much in, "The Rain Came." The story had a great climax leading up to ending. At one point, I was in tears. The story also had irony in it because of the fact that the daughter thought that her dad was discusing her marriage, but really discussing death. I thought that she was going to die for the greater good. Turns out, her true love recuses her, and rain comes. Win win situation.

  33. The end of the story was suprising to me. I did not think that Osinda would come and save her. It shocked me when I read it. Oganda had to sacrifice her life and happiness for other peoples happiness. In the end, she was saved by Osinda and was happy. It also rained in the end. So at the end of the story, both the Lao people and Oganda were happy.

  34. The ending of "The Rain Came" was a very predictable one. First, you just knew that eventually the Luo people were going to get rain because you can tell from the stories' title. Next, you just knew that her lover Osinda was going to rescue her. Also, you know that she wouldn't die because that's not how these kind of stories end. Lastly, I felt happy because Oganda finnaly got her lover Osinda. All in all the storie was well put together and very enjoyable.

  35. The ending of The Rain Came was surprising, hopeful yet quite ironic also. I liked the fact that Oganda was saved and could live with Osinda after all. I felt that the author set it up this way was to prove that superstitions were not reasonable and also to show how important education and knowledge were in a contrast that the villagers believed in sacrificing human lives would have rain in return. I also liked how hopeful the ending became, as the rain came down and the villagers were saved and on the other hand Oganga and Osinda would survive, too.

  36. At the end of the story, "The Rain Came" I felt very confused.. It really didn't tell us anything that actually happened. I feel like it could have elaborated more on the subject. I really did like the story, though.
