These two are the undisputed pride of Hinduism. They have set many examples to follow in our day to day life. But if we analyse them in little more detail, we find that they have few similarities. They are as different as chalk and cheese. In most of the cases we will see they are quite opposite to each other. The main story is more distinctly the creation of one mind.

  3. Both of these stories are bases off of Hinduism. They live the life how all the people do who follow Hinduism. Another similarity is that they both stories have some sort of fighting in them. By this I mean Ravana and Rama are fighting, as in the other story the brothers get killed, except for one. Then the brother that lived is trying to get a prize, and that prize turns out to be him being able to revive one of his brothers. They are different because the one brother is an epic hero, and in Hundred Questions there isn't an epic hero in my opinion. These stories could be classified completely different as well.

  4. Both stories are part of the Hindu religion. The Mahabharata contains a lot more rules to follow and sets many more examples to follow then the Ramayana. The Mahabharata tells the story of yudhistira and how his wisdom, modesty and humility got him the gift of being incognito and he also got to revive his brothers. The Ramayana focusus more on battle and how an honorable battle should go on out. Though both stories feature deities interfering with mortals and death. Both stories are held as a part of Hindu religion and teach many valueable lessons to people.

  5. The Mahabharata and Ramayana are both great epics of hinduism. They both have an epic hero in thier stroies. They both have the epic hero going on great quests and adventures. Both stories also have a antagoinst such as Ravana in Ramayana. They contrast in thier plots becuase one hero has to get vengence on his clever cousins while other has to resuce his mother and destroy and demon. They both are apart of hindu and Indian culture. 6. The Mahabharata and Ramayana are both stories based off of Hinduism. They also both have an epic hero, Rama in the Ramayana and Yudhistira. Both stories also showcase the epic hero's sense of ethics. They also both discuss Gods. However, one story, the Ramayana, is about a battle so it contains violence and fighting. It showcases the epic hero's fighting ability as well as his morals. The Mahabharata is geared towards showing the epic hero's intelligence rather then his fighting ability.

  7. Both stories come from the religion of Hinduism. Each story contains an epic hero to which is followed throughout the stories. In the Mahabharata, it shows more moral and intellectual values that can be used in life. It also shows that if you do what you are supposed to do, you in some way get rewarded, as in the case of Yudhistira and his brothers. In the Ramayana, it focuses more on the battle rather than the morals of the story. Both show the Hindu gods interacting with the characters in some way. Each story does contain different parts of the Hindu religion and culture.

  8. If you look obviously at the stories you could they share no similarities but when you analyze some things you realize a deeper symbolic meaning. The purpose of Mahabharata you see how wisdom and justice receives the favor of the gods. when you look at the rama the battle was tedious and filled with pointless weapons and magic that were used until ravana died. Whats significant is that monkey in Hinduism started with Shiva who gave birth to hanuman the monkey that led his army with rama against ravana. This shows that even though ravana said to have shivas aid even shiva's godlike actions played against him showing how much favor rama had from the gods . Now at the end when it speaks of the elephant, elephants are seen as water and the givers of life. So even the one seen to give life attacked ravana in the back showing how little support in his existence he had from the universe and that all his actions are what led to his downfall in the end. Now back to the Mahabharata the four brothers did not respect the gods warning not to drink but yudhisthira did, so he gained favor. The meaning behind the two stories is probably the biggest similarity because they both possessed the same point. Follow your dharma and everything you do will have success do not and you will surely die.

  9. The stories Mahabharata and Ramayana are both from the religion Hinduism. They both have mythical themes, for example the voice the four brothers hear that tells them not to drink the water and the demon Ravana is also an example of mythical and nonrealistic things in these stories. They also both have an epic heros, Rama who defeats Ravana and Yudhistira saves all four of his brothers by not drinking the water and answering the voices questions. Theyre different though because they both have different themes and plots to the stories.

  10. some of the similarities are that they are both based off of the religion of hinduism. they both have to do with some kind of fighting. rama and ravana fight in ramayana because rama took ravanas' wife sita. and yudhisteria isnt physically fighting anyone, but he's fighting to be able to drink the water, and the last 4 questions he's fighting to be able to revive one of his brothers. some differences are that both of them arent about a war. also in ramayana there is a demon in it, and in 100 questions there is a god. both of these stories also have epic heros.

  11. Both stories are similar because they have to do with the religion Hinduism. In each of these stories there is an epic hero that we followed through out. Both stories lesson is to follow your dharma and you will be successful if not you will die. If you do something good you will get rewarded just like yudhistira and his brothers. The Ramayana focuses on fighting more then being a good person and following morals. These stories are alike but at the same time they are different.

  12. The Mahabharata and Ramayana are two stories that are based off of Hinduism. The two stories are very similar but are also very difference. They are alike because they both teach a lesson/moral, they both have an epic hero, and they both are apart of the Hindu religion and are used to teach people who practice that religion about it. They are different because of what the lesson that is taught and what the story is about. In Mahabharata, the brothers go against what the Gods say and they drink the water, but in Ramayana, they listened to the Gods and the Gods guided them. and helped them in battle. Overall, the stories have equal similarities and differences.

  13. The Mahabharata and Ramayana are both wonderful epics of hinduism. Each story contains an epic hero in which they are both the main characters. Rama and Yuhistria though in different stories, are very much a like. They both go on and adventure for the greater good. In both stories the epic hero is the one to save the day. Also, another similarity are the themes. They are both about wisdom and fairness. On the contrary, both stories are very different. Mahabharata has to do with good and evil. Ramayana is about listening and paying attention to your surroundings. Though these stories are similar, they are also different.

  14. they are both good stories that show the important morales of hinduism. Mahabharata shows how important intelligence is to them and how much they actually know about their religion. Ramayana shows how much belief they have in their gods and how much they need to pray to their gods for all the help they can get in any situation.

  15. First off, Mahabharata and Ramayana are based on Hinduism values and beliefs. Both stories exhibit some religious themes, such as the characters and qualities that the epic heroes are believed to have, whether to be the dharmar or other duties. Moreover, they have similar structures. Both stories emphasize on an epic hero and his hard work and efforts to achieve their goals. In Mahabharata, Yudhistira is the hero who saves his brothers and impresses Yaksha with his fine characters and wisdom. In Ramayana, Rama is the epic hero that defeats the demon Ravana and saves his wife. Both heroes also demonstrate characteristic similarities, that they are thoughtful, intelligent, responsible courageous and have leadership qualities. The differences between the two stories are, first, obviously the tasks and obstacles and heroes face, and types of them. Yudhistira faces more like a mental and intellectual challenge while Rama deals with more like a physical challenge.

  16. These stories are very similiar but very different at the same time. Both stories talk about the morals of hindu people. Also each story as an epic hero. But the actually story lines are different. They even both discuss gods. But the Ramyana is about a big battle. The other story is not.

  18. Mahabharata and Ramayana are both very similiar stories. They both have an epic hero in them. Both of these stories are based off of Hindusim. Also both of the stories have a suprise ending. They are different because in Mahabharata there is a test of knowledge. In Ramayana there is a test of fighting skills.

  19. These two stories are similar and different in many ways. For instance they are both based in the Hindu religion, but they teach two different morals or lessons. The story from the Mahabharata, A Hundred Questions, is about five brothers on a quest to find the Brahmins ceremonial tools. They happen to come across a pond after hours of searching. The short of the long of it is four of the five brothers take a sip of the water and die, the turn a deaf ear to the voices wishes and warnings and suffer the consequences. The fifth of the brothers portrays traits of an epic hero, conquering the voice and reviving the brothers. The moral of the story is that humility and sense is better then brawn and fool hardiness. With the Ramayana the moral is of the Dharma, one must follow his Dharma to earn the acceptance and support of the Gods. Rama was fighting for a noble cause and the Gods, he had their acceptance and support. Ravana was fighting against him, betraying the Dharma. Towards the end of the story Ravanas brother explains how when they were younger an elephant, the symbol of the life giver, stabbed him in the back. Showing how from the very beginning Ravana wasn't meant to live.

  20. The Mahabharata and Ramayana are epics of the Hindu people. Both stories follow an epic hero as they face different challenges. In the Mahabharata, Yudhistira must answer many, many tough questions quickly. This is totally different from the challenges in the Ramayana. The story tells of a great battle, where many epic hero qualities can be tested. Both stories feature Hindu gods interacting with normal people, incognito at first.

  24. They are both epics in the hinduism religion. They both give life stories or also known as morals. In the mahabharata Yudhistira he must answer many questions to get the water and to revive one of his brothers. Meanwhile, in the Ramayan the story tells the battle of ravana and rama. This story tested the characteristics of the epic hero. In both stories they talk about the gods being in incognito till the end.

  25. The stories Mahabharata and Ramayana are different but alike meaning there are some aspects that are similar and some that are not. The story Mahabharata is mostly about Yudhistira who is the epic hero of the story. What makes Yudhistira the epic hero is him being humble, not being greedy, and respects others. A example of this would be when Yudhistira goes to the lake where his brothers lay there dead, and he is still humble to the voice and respects his wishes and doesn't drink the water until he answers all the questions. Yudhistira could be greedy and drink the water because he is just as thirsty as his brothers. The story Rama vs Ravana is about the epic hero Rama and the prideful personality of Ravana. What basically happened was Ravana got to prideful and thought that he could beat anyone in a battle so then he challenged Rama. Rama didn't want to fight in the first place because he knows it isn't right. The story Mahabharata is like the story Ravana vs. Rama because they both deal with epic hero's and there enemies. Ravana vs. Rama and Mahabharata are both different because Ravana just got to prideful wheres Yudhistira's first brother was greedy and drank the water and it was also a extremely disrespectful because he drank the water after being told not to.

  26. The Mahabharata and the Ramayana are both epic stories. The two stories have some similarity and some differences. For example, both stories deal with and epic hero. In addition, they both are derived from the the religious background of Hinduism. In contrast one story is about battle and the other is about listening and following directions. In both situations though one character had to overcome a conflict and they did so and went on to become the hero.

  28. Both of these stories come from the same region which would be South Central Asia. The religion that is involved is Hinduism. These stories are two completely different stories. First, one of them involves four brothers and last one must answer one hundred questions. With the other one there is a hero Rama and a bad guy Ravana and the fight each other Rama wins. These are just some of the reasons why there the same and different.

They both endure a journey and are both very smart. The two stories also have a common theme. Wisdom appears throughout the stories continuously.

Both stories have different points of Hinduism. In the mahabadara , Yudhistira has to answer one hundred questions in order to drink from the pond. Also all of his brothers will be revived if he answers the last four questions correctly. In the Ramayana, The god and the hindu priest fight. -Kristian Mcniss period 3
